近义词的区分，和resist的 用法

老师您好，谢谢老师这段时间耐心的给我们上课，每次都义务 占用自己时间 给我们讲那么多背景知识，真的学到了很多以前不知道的知识点，在现在因为口罩 不能看世界的日子里也拓宽了眼界，学习是一件充实的事情，和老师学习是开心快乐的。我有几个不明白的点希望老师百忙中 解答一下。
1.PPT 里D部分， 第2课 rumble, clutter,          第4课 intrude & invade v,和   debatable & arguable adj.  这三组近义词 不太会区分，有时间可以帮忙 解释一下吗？谢谢老师！
2.resist to 的用法，PPT里这句话 They are determined to resist the pressure to change the law.他们决心抵制压力 改变法律。和课文中，it was Dutch doctors who most heroically resisted pressure to join in the Nazi medical atrocities that have given euthanasia its worst name. 荷兰医生，他们英勇地抵制纳粹的压力，拒绝参与曾使安乐死声名狼藉的纳粹的人体医学实验。PPT是肯定，课文中翻译的是否定 拒绝参与。这个resist的翻译不太理解，能否请老师解答一下，谢谢！
3. Both the mother and father almost turned themselves inside out in embarrassment and apology. 老师这句话的inside out,不理解。

另外PPT  中译英第8个句子，In the ensuing struggle they grew more and more abject, crushed, exhausted while surely the girl rose to magnificent heights of insane fury of effort bred of her terror of me. 这里课文是while she surely, 像PPT 这样Girl 加在surely 后面也可以呀，PPT这句话 课文部分少了She。

1.        jumble, clutter      
jumble sth,这里的宾语sth是乱堆放的东西。比如jumble the books on the desk。The books are jumbled on the desk.
clutter sth. 这里的宾语sth是被堆放的空间。比如clutter the desk with books. The desk is cluttered with books. 常用clutter A with B. 即用B胡乱地塞满A，或者B胡乱地堆在A 上。A可以是抽屉，可以是桌面，也可以是马路（比如马路被堵满了车）等等。
书上的练习是clutter the desk with old papers,旧报纸塞满了桌子。只是练习里是被动语态，the desk was cluttered with….

2.         intrude & invade
invade主要强调的是（1）侵略（其它国家） （2）invade a place=enter a place in a large number，大批进入涌入，PPT里的第二个句子就是取第二个意思。
intrude主要强调的是：（1）侵扰，常和into,in, 或者on连用。（2）干扰 (3)侵入，闯入 常用于intrude  into a place，比如PPT的第一句。

3.         debatable & arguable
debatable 意思是有争议的。常用于含whether的句中，意思是否…还有争议。比如PPT第二句。是否能呆在这个地方大家还有争议。
Arguable, 意思是存在疑问的，可以理解为有待证实的。比如PPT里的第一句。“他们的决定是最佳方案”这个还有待证实。

4.        They are determined to resist the pressure to change the law.
it was Dutch doctors who most heroically resisted pressure to join in the Nazi medical atrocities that have given euthanasia its worst name.
更普遍的情况还是to短语连的是pressure, the pressure to do sth.即课文中表达的意思。类似的还有the temptation to do sth 做某事的诱惑。
有时to短语也可理解为in order to do sth.
这里的第一句没有上下文，两种理解都不是不可。不过还是理解为第一种意思更好。
5.        Both the mother and father almost turned themselves inside out in embarrassment and apology. 老师这句话的inside out,不理解。
Turn…inside out此处是形象地表达，整句话意思就是非常非常的尴尬和抱歉。
6.        In the ensuing struggle they grew more and more abject, crushed, exhausted while surely the girl rose to magnificent heights of insane fury of effort bred of her terror of me. 这里课文是while she surely,
Sure可以放在主语前，比如surely you are right
原句是while she surely rose,PPT上只是把she改成了the girl，然后把surely放在了前面，没有区别。
