1. The Government Should Tighten Gun Control

It is claimed by some people that the possession of firearms is a democratic right and should not be restricted. They argue that most gun owners are responsible citizens who keep guns for sport and recreation. They also believe that the police are incapable of preventing violent crime and that people need guns to protect themselves. However, some critics, such as Josephine Bluff, argue that guns increase the amount of violent crime in the community. Moreover, human life should be valued more than recreational shooting. In reality, many guns kept at home end up being used in violent domestic disputes or teenage suicides rather than for self-defense.
