Some students support the idea of wearing school uniforms on campus because they believe it can improve their performance in learning. One argument for this is that school uniforms make students' lives easier as they don't need to spend time thinking about what to wear, so they have more time to learn. It is also said that school uniforms increase students' attention in class because they are less distracted by what others are wearing.
However, there is no real evidence to suggest that wearing a school uniform will definitely improve performance at school. Learning performances are mostly shaped by teaching quality, school resources, parental involvement and student motivation. School uniforms do not influence any of these core factors. In fact, they may even hinder learning in some cases. School uniforms do not always accommodate different weather conditions or body types, which can cause discomfort and distraction. Students wearing comfortable clothing are more likely to stay focused on learning.
