Worries of Modern Youth
Nowadays, young people, especially those belonging to Generation Z, face a myriad of challenges that contribute to their worries and anxieties. As they grow older, the world seems increasingly difficult to navigate. These worries can be classified into three main categories: academic pressures, career uncertainty, and family burdens.
To begin with academic pressure, young people feel constant stress to perform well to secure a bright future. The fear of failing exams or not meeting academic expectations can be overwhelming. They must make great effort to study hard, pass exams, and strive to achieve good grades on campus. Graduating with high marks increases their chances of getting accepted into top universities. Additionally, an increasing number of students choose continue their education to obtain a master's or doctoral degree, which prolongs and exacerbates their worries and pressure.
Next is the uncertainty of career andfuture. Younger generations today face a challenging job market in the current economic climate. Although job cuts have slowed in some industries, job opportunities are still scarce. As a result, young people have to compete more intensely with many others to secure employment. Even if they are hired, they must constantly maintain a competitive edge to avoid being laid off, adding to their stress.
Lastly, family burden significantly impacts young people. They face significant pressure from family expectations and responsibilities. Many may feel obligated to meet their parents’ expectations in terms of education, career, and lifestyle choices. Additionally, young people also face the pressure related to marriage and raising children with the prospect of starting a family and the responsibilities that comes with it can be daunting.
These three areas: academic pressure, career and future uncertainty, and family burden—highlight some of the key worries faced by young people today. Addressing these concerns requires a multifaceted approach that includes support from family, educators, government and mental health professionals.Only through a combined effort can we hope to alleviate the burdens weighing on the younger generation and help them navigate the complexities of modern life.

It has been argued that workplace romance is a tricky issue. This kind of relationship is likely to divert employees' attention at work, especially the friction and estrangement between couples may impact their emotions and work status, affecting efficiency and enthusiasm. As a result, some enterprises have banned workplace romance. Additionally, colleagues may feel awkward after a romantic relationship ends, which can affect future career prospects. However, young people today often have limited time for social activities outside of work, making the workplace a primary venue for social interaction and relationship-building. In this context, workplace romance is almost inevitable. On the bright side, workplace romance can help individuals find meaningful relationships without much social interaction, especially benefiting introverted people who might struggle to meet potential partners elsewhere. Moreover, successful workplace relationships can enhance job satisfaction and create a more positive work environment.
