As human beings, we tend to show our better side rather than show who we really are. This can be seen in many aspects of our life, such as appearance, work, and romantic relationships.
In daily life, we often spend ten minutes to an hour putting on makeup, getting dressed, or simply tidying ourselves up. We also edit our selfies before uploading them to social media to make ourselves look better.
In the workplace, we try to behave in a friendly and professional manner. Even when we are tired or dealing with someone we dislike, we still try to be polite because we believe it helps us leave a good impression on others.
In romantic relationships, new couples also present only their best sides at the beginning. Many weaknesses or imperfections take time to appear. This is why some couples choose to live together before marriage to see each other’s habits more clearly and decide whether they can accept them.
In conclusion, the tendency to show our better side in front of others is part of human nature. It is neither good nor bad. It simply helps people get along with each other.
